Wireless Connection Manager - Connection properties

Should your WiFi connection fail to work, we invite you to follow these steps.
This sheet tells you how to check your wireless connection properties.

>> STEP 1/7
Click on Start (represented by a flag to the lower left).
Click on Network.

In this new window, click on Network and sharing Center.



>> STEP 3/7
In the WiFi connection part, click on the View status link located in front of your router's name.



>> STEP 4/7
The Wireless Network Connection Status window appears.
Then click on Wireless Properties.

In this new window, the Connection tab indicates the name of the connection, as well as the automatic network connection options.



>> STEP 6/7
Click on the Security tab.
The information in this tab relates to the security of the wireless connection.
In order to protect access to your router, we strongly recommend you secure your wireless link.



>> STEP 7/7
Click on OK.
The Wireless Network Connection status window appears again.
Then click on Properties.
A User Account Control warning window may appear depending on your computer’s options; in this case, click on Continue or enter your Administrator’s password.



>> STEP 7/7
The Wireless Network Connection Properties window appears.
In the Networking tab, there are items required for your connection to work properly.
In the "This connection uses the following items" field, the following items must be present and ticked:
- Client for Microsoft Networks
- Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)



Click OK to close all the windows.

All of these verifications provide you with information on the operations of your WiFi connection.
